2016 Elections—Market Thoughts

The investment markets often overreact to political events. The markets will react to the election of Donald Trump as President of the U.S. Since this brings uncertainty for the foreseeable future, it is possible that some of these reactions will be negative.
Remember that markets go up and down all of the time, and the best rewards usually go to those who apply a methodical, disciplined approach and do not overreact to these fluctuations with knee-jerk reactions.
Also, as the chart below shows, it is important to remember that historically, there is virtually no predictability as to how markets will perform under each President’s administration.

We will continue to monitor the situation and post out a more comprehensive communication by the end of the week. We would also like to reiterate that a methodical, disciplined approach always provides a better chance for success than emotional, knee-jerk decisions.
